MODERN HEALTH CIRCLE SERIES

BIPOC Mental Health Month

July is BIPOC Mental Health Month so we are raising awareness and support by offering a new series that explores the BIPOC mental health experience.

In this series, our curated roster of expert providers will work with participants on how to find culturally-centered care, and facilitate discussions on the stigma of mental health and intersectionality within the BIPOC community.

Modern Health members have access to unlimited sessions.

Discussion
Destigmatizing Mental Health Among BIPOC Men
BIPOC men may experience life differently simply based on the color of their skin, the area they grew up in, the schools they attend, or even in the jobs they choose to have. Whether or not an individual is aware of the challenges they are up against, these forces, both invisible and visible, affect the mental health of each BIPOC man. This BIPOC Men’s Circle provides a safe environment for people of this community to discuss our experiences, learn about mental health, and discover ways to continue to grow.
This session is reserved for individuals who self-identify as a BIPOC male. This will be a discussion-based session, so if you are looking for support and to connect with others, this is the format for you! We strongly encourage cameras to be on during discussion based Circles to build community.

This session will also provide tools on how to help break the stigma cycle and how to support others if you have your own internalized stigma.
This session is open to attendees of all identities. This will be a listen & learn session, so if you are looking for in-depth learning on a topic and the chance to ask questions via chat, this is the Circles format for you!

When Being Resilient Isn't Enough: A Healing Space for BIPOC Women
Women have always experienced inequalities in society, though these issues run deeper for women in the BIPOC community. From stereotypes and quality of healthcare, to the value of our lives compared to white women. Through it all there is always the recognition of our resilience, but being strong takes a lot out of us, and we need to take some time to live without that weight. Join two of our Modern Health providers, Dr. Stacy Peebles and Emely Sanchez, LMFT for discussion, healing and celebration of our womanhood.
Open to all female-identifying individuals, this session will hold space for participants to share, relate and ask questions around the experiences of being a BIPOC Woman. We strongly encourage cameras to be on during discussion based Circles to build community.
