How Circles Work

What are Circles?
Circles are live group sessions led by Modern Health therapists. You'll walk away from each session with skills to navigate challenges that may be impacting your mental health — whether at work, at home, or in your personal relationships.

During each Circle, facilitators will start by sharing concepts to help you think differently, and offer tools that you can put into action right away.

Throughout the rest of the session, you’ll have a chance to ask questions, listen to others, or share your own experiences during an optional, facilitated discussion.

Creating a Safe Space
We want to ensure that each Circle is a safe, intimate space for you to share and learn. We encourage attendees to join with video on, and assure you that your private information will not be shared externally. All attendees are required to abide by our Code of Conduct.

Celebrating Diversity within Black Communities
It is important to acknowledge the role that systemic racism has played in using rhetoric that describes people of African descent as a single community, as opposed to a collection of communities. Join this session, led by a Modern Health provider, to reclaim the narrative and celebrate the rich diversity and history across Black communities.
This session is open to individuals of all identities who are interested in confronting anti-Black racism. This will be a Listen & Learn session, so if you are looking for in-depth learning on a topic and the chance to ask questions, this is the Circles format for you.

Healing Circles for Black Communities: Processing Pivotal Moments in Time
Nearly a year after the murder of George Floyd, the trial of Derek Chauvin marks another pivotal moment in time. If you are following the trial and finding yourself re-triggered, grappling with hard questions, emotional, angry, and less than hopeful, join us to talk about it. Collective spaces are critical in surviving racial trauma and we need us all to survive. During the session, one of our licensed psychologists will facilitate an intimate dialogue and offer strategies for coping.
This session is reserved for those who self-identify as being of African ancestry. If you don't fall in this group, please register for our ally session. This will be a discussion-based session, so if you are looking for support and to connect with others, this is the format for you!
