Healing Racial Trauma

A series of therapist-led Circles designed as intimate spaces that uplift and support Black communities as they experience racial trauma.

Participants learn critical skills for buffering the impacts of trauma and have the opportunity to share their stories, bear witness to the experience of others, and become empowered by the collective spirit that emerges when a culture unites for one purpose— to heal.

How Circles Work

What are Circles?
Circles are live group sessions led by Modern Health therapists. You'll walk away from each session with skills to navigate challenges that may be impacting your mental health — whether at work, at home, or in your personal relationships.

During each Circle, facilitators will start by sharing concepts to help you think differently, and offer tools that you can put into action right away.

Throughout the rest of the session, you’ll have a chance to ask questions, listen to others, or share your own experiences during an optional, facilitated discussion.

Creating a Safe Space
We want to ensure that each Circle is a safe, intimate space for you to share and learn. We encourage attendees to join with video on, and assure you that your private information will not be shared externally. All attendees are required to abide by our Code of Conduct.

Healing Circles for Allies in Solidarity
Healing Circles for Allies are spaces that uplift and support allies of the Black community as they navigate the experience of racism, which undoubtedly affects us all. Participants have an opportunity to process their feelings, share their stories, and learn different ways to be an ally in an effort to facilitate healing. Come to learn, share, and heal. We’ll be discussing how we are all impacted by racism in America and why you need healing too. This session is open to people of all cultures and ethnic backgrounds who feel impacted by current events and are committed to addressing anti-Black racism, implicit bias, and White privilege for healing, personal growth, and social change.
